Susannah has 25+ years' experience in environmental investing, start-up growth and finance across climate change and resource efficiency. She leads Seed and Series A investments into early-stage UK clean tech, with a sector focus on built environment, decarbonisation of heat, waste and circular economy. She was previously at Sustainable Ventures, Carbon Trust Enterprises, WRAP and HSBC. Susannah represents CGF across portfolio boards and industry advisory groups. She is committed to driving both climate impact and greater diversity in investment.

Stephen Price

Stephen has 20+ years of direct experience leading early-stage technology investments across Seed and Series A funding rounds, spanning diverse industries, technologies, and market verticals. He also has strong university technology transfer expertise and has held multiple operational roles in metals, semiconductors, and automotive sectors. A former chartered engineer (IOM3), Stephen worked in research, product, and process development roles. He holds a BEng (First Class) in Mechanical Design, Materials and Manufacture, plus a Doctorate in Materials Engineering.

Sophie is a seasoned cleantech investor backing visionary founders from breakthrough technology to commercial success. She was previously Chief Investment Officer at bp Launchpad and led Partnerships and Innovation at bp Pulse EV charging infrastructure. A former General Partner at Iris Capital and Munich Re Ventures, her portfolio has delivered more than a dozen successful exits. Sophie holds an MSc from Télécom Paris and is an Oxford AI Programme alumna.

Gemma is Clean Growth Fund's CFO. She has over 15 years of accounting and finance experience across banking, asset management, and venture capital. A CPA Australia-qualified accountant, she started her career at PwC Hong Kong before moving to Seattle to work with BlackRock and Carta, where she administered and controlled funds for 30+ VC clients. Gemma was named one of 32 Pioneers in Private Markets (2025) for aligning financial operations with climate impact.

Maria Khan, Head of Compliance, ESG & Ops

Head of Compliance

Maria is Head of Compliance at CGF and a senior leader with over 20 years’ experience supporting investment businesses and venture capital funds. She has served as UK Chief Risk Officer at SoftBank Vision Fund, Head of Risk & Compliance at Eight Roads Ventures, and earlier worked at Hermes Federated. Maria has overseen more than 100 global investments, strengthening governance and enabling sustainable, compliant growth. She holds a degree and Master’s (with distinction) from the London School of Economics.

Connor focuses on investing in breakthrough technologies with the potential to meaningfully reduce greenhouse gas emissions. He has 7 years’ experience spanning innovation consulting, investment banking and venture capital. In his early career he has worked on a broad range of projects, including early-stage venture support programmes, pre-seed to Series B investing, and financing packages for multi-GW renewable energy generators. Connor holds degrees in sustainable energy and chemical engineering.

Adelya is passionate about deploying capital into technologies that can accelerate industrial decarbonisation. With 15 years across corporate finance, energy traded markets and risk management, she has held senior roles at Alexa Capital leading capital raises and M&A mandates in energy transition, at Cargill structuring credit transactions in American power markets, and at EY New York advising on valuation and risk in banking capital markets. She holds an MBA from IESE Business School and a BSc in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University.

Lauren leads CGF’s engagement with investors and is responsible for driving sustainability initiatives across the firm’s operations and portfolio. She has 25 years’ experience in institutional investing, pension funds and sustainability at Storebrand Asset Management UK, SKAGEN Funds, Schroders and Fidelity Investments. Lauren was named Professional Pensions ESG and Sustainability Woman of the Year 2025. She holds an MSc in Climate Change: Environment, Science and Policy (Distinction, Best Thesis Award) from King’s College London, and a BSc in Mathematics from University of Leeds.

Ben has a decade of experience working across climate tech entrepreneurship, early-stage venture investment and institutional portfolio management. He previously co-founded Solar Solutions and Shift Energy through Carbon13, one of Europe's leading climate tech venture builders, and advised endowment and foundation portfolios at Cambridge Associates. Ben holds a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Bristol.

Penny joined CGF’s investment team in 2025. She is a chemical engineer with 3 years' experience in industrial refrigeration and steel. Previously, she supported early-stage climate tech companies on their technoeconomic analyses in an advisory capacity. Penny holds a MPhil Bioscience Enterprise from Cambridge (UK) and a BEng Chemical and Process Engineering from New Zealand.

Lisa leads all communications for Clean Growth Fund, driving the fund's mission to connect with innovators across the UK. Prior to joining, she spent seven years at Emap heading up the marketing department, overseeing 20+ events across the UK and internationally, alongside a portfolio of digital products. Lisa's background spans both marketing and public relations, and she holds a degree from the US, where she studied on a tennis scholarship.

Robert Bahns

Robert has worked as CFO of technology start-ups since late 2018 and previously spent 20 years as a venture capital investor. Formerly Investment Partner at IP Group and Director at Touchstone (hardware and materials). Previously Director in the technology team at Nomura International. Trained electronics engineer at Pioneer Electronics Japan. Robert has an MBA from Insead and an Electrical Sciences degree from the University of Cambridge.

Gershon served as a member of the UK Government’s National Infrastructure Plan Strategic Engagement Forum and represented business as part of B20/G20 task forces.

Faith brings nearly three decades of experience advocating for a deeper understanding of systemic risks within finance and investment decision-making. Most recently Chief Responsible Investment Officer at Brunel Pension Partnership and Chair of the IIGCC. Founder and former co-chair of the Transition Pathway Initiative, currently Chair of the Working Group for Scaling Finance at the Transition Finance Council. Adviser to the Church of England National Investing Bodies, the ISSB Investor Advisory Group, and the LSE Grantham Institute's ATTENUATE project. Faith was awarded an MBE in 2025 for services to pensions and the environment.
